Tee Time Style

Bringing the Understated Elegance of the Golf Club to your Home

The Masters Tournament had us admiring not just the skill on the green, but also the enduring elegance often found within the walls of prestigious golf clubhouses. This week, we're exploring how to bring that understated elegance into your own home.

BRINGING "TEE TIME STYLE" HOME:

What is it about the aesthetic of a well-appointed golf club that feels so timeless? It's often a blend of:

  • Rich Natural Materials: Think warm woods (mahogany, oak ( p.s. oak is a KMI Favorite), supple leather, sturdy brass or bronze accents, and natural fibers like wool and linen.

  • A Grounded Color Palette: A sophisticated mix of deep greens (think a perfectly manicured fairway), warm browns (like aged leather and wood), crisp creams and whites, and perhaps touches of classic navy or burgundy.

  • Comfortable yet Refined Furnishings: Deep, inviting sofas and armchairs, often upholstered in leather or durable fabrics. Substantial wood tables and well-placed ambient lighting create a sense of relaxed luxury.

  • Classic Architectural Details: Wainscoting, paneled walls, and traditional moldings often add a layer of timeless sophistication.

  • A Sense of History and Heritage: Often incorporates subtle nods to golf history through artwork, trophies, or vintage sporting equipment used as décor.

SHOP KATE'S FAVORITES THIS WEEK!

This week, we’re sharing a few of our favorite spring fashion finds—trends we’re seeing (and loving) as the seasons shift.

  1. First up: the classic trench coat, reimagined. Whether it’s a bold print or an unexpected detail, this staple is getting a fun refresh—and it’s just right for layering in our ever-unpredictable Midwest weather.

  2. Next, Mary Janes are catching our eye and we aren't the only ones. These sweet, strappy shoes are popping up everywhere, from street style to runways.

  3. Lastly, double denim is in. Look for structured denim and co-ord sets. Think less cowboy and more Parisian off-duty.
